Was Mary Magdalene the thirteenth disciple of Jesus Christ?

After viewing the movie, Mary Magdalene, I wondered if she was the thirteenth disciple of Jesus Christ.
Rooney Mara played the part of Mary Magdalene and Joaquin Phoenix portrayed Jesus.
The New Testament said very little of Mary Magdalene and could it be because she was a woman?
The only mention of her was when she washed Jesus' feet with a box of alabaster ointment and dried them with her hair.
In the movie, MARY MAGDALENE is portrayed as a humanistic and compassionate young woman who is willing to give a helping hand to others.
The movie depicts the story of Mary (Rooney Mara), a young woman in search of a new way of living.
Constricted by the hierarchies of the day, Mary defies her traditional family to join the discipleship of Jesus of Nazareth (Joaquin Phoenix).
Her family thought that a demon possessed her but it was her strong faith that pulled her in the direction of Jesus.
She finds peace as a disciple of Jesus and follows him along with the other twelve disciples.
Jesus told her that she would be one of his witnesses and she was.
She was the first to witness his resurrection.
Controversial writers have sought to implicate Mary and Jesus as lovers.
Here is my take on that aspect.
Jesus was sent by God on a mission.
He was born of the Virgin Mary.
His mother knew of his calling and was preparing for it.
He was faithful in that mission.
When John the Baptist baptized Jesus, God spoke from heaven and said, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."
He survived forty days and forty nights of temptation in the wilderness.
He accomplished God's mission and three days after his crucifixion he rose from the dead.
He was without sin.
If he had strayed from what God sent him to do he would not be sitting at the right hand of God.
He is our Lord and Saviour.
Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
He is the reason we celebrate Easter and Christmas.
