CREATING AN ACCOUNT ON AMAZON KINDLE PUBLISHING

How To Create KDP Account | Kindle Direct KDP Publishing

Creating an account on KDP is a very simple process. It only takes a few minutes, once you have the relevant information at hand.

One of the advantages of Self- Publishing on KDP, is that you have access to your Sales Reports daily. It’s a joy to check your reports as often as you wish, and see the number of sales you obtain for each of your books

Create a KDP Account

If you already have an Amazon account for purchasing goods and services, sign in to Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) with your existing Amazon username and password.

If you don't have an Amazon account, go to KDP and click Sign up.

Then click Create your KDP account and enter your name, email address, and a secure password.

Once you've created your account, you'll need to enter author, payment, and tax information.

Browse the topics below to learn more.

Author /Publisher Information

Enter your first and last name or the name of your publishing company and the mailing address you want KDP to use for tax reporting purposes and royalty payments.

Note: Don't enter your pen name here. This matters because KDP issues your payments and tax forms under the same name.

If you want to use a pen name, enter it when you’re setting up your book details.

Getting Paid

When setting up your account, you'll need to provide details for receiving royalty payments.

Available payment methods are direct deposit, wire transfer or check, and are based on the location of your bank.

Direct deposit, also known as electronic funds transfer (EFT), has no minimum payment threshold, and it's the fastest, most secure and environmentally friendly way to receive your royalty payments.

You'll be paid in full approximately 60 days after the end of every month for all your sales, regardless of the amount, and in your local currency.

However, if you opt to receive a cheque, there is a minimum threshold of US$100.00.

U.S. tax regulations require Amazon to collect information about your tax status under U.S. law with the online tax interview on your KDP account page. They must receive and validate your tax information before you can update existing books or publish new books in the Kindle store. The tax interview guides you step-by-step through gathering all the information required to establish your tax identity. Tax withholding and specific requirements vary depending on whether you're located in the United States or another country.

Today I just want to Count my Blessings.

Last night before I went to bed I was feeling discouraged.
It was for something very minor I may add.
I felt I was not getting enough reviews for my books although I have given away many books FREE.
I was thinking of quitting writing.
And then I thought I had no reason to be discouraged.
My life has been blessed with many wonderful opportunities.
My career in banking, though difficult at times, was a total success.
After retiring from Banking I moved into the Insurance arena and that too was a total success.
Four years ago I started writing books.
So far I have written eighteen books and they are all on AMAZON.
Some have won awards.
My life has been good but what has made it better is my family.
When I count my blessings, I count my husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, relatives, and friends.
I cherish the memories we shared and I have referred to many wonderful times we spent together in my memoirs.
To me, Success is not what I have achieved.
Success is what my offspring have achieved.
And they have achieved much that I am proud of.
Today I just want to count my many blessings.

What better way than to share this song with my readers.

When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.]

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings—*money cannot buy [*wealth can never buy]
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
