THE BEAUTY OF POETRY

THE BEAUTY OF POETRY

Poetry can be used to express something artistically.

The use of rhyme and rhythm contributes magically.

Thoughts and ideas can be arranged in stanzas,

Making the language simple to connect with readers.

Poetry evokes vivid imagery and deep emotions.

The brevity allows for a concise and powerful expression.

The poet’s thoughts are conveyed in a personal manner.

These elements can all reflect the poet’s demeanour.

Poets are sometimes referred to as word alchemists.

At times, their words make you feel they are optimists.

Their verses and words transform content into pleasure.

John Keats said that a thing of beauty is a joy forever.

The work of famous poets lives on after their death,

We commemorate their poetry for special events.

Writing poetry takes my mind off this chaotic world.

In my life, the beauty of poetry plays a special role.

CELEBRATING WORLD POETRY DAY

CELEBRATING WORLD POETRY DAY 21st March 2026

Poetry has been around since ancient Biblical times.

King David, Moses, and King Solomon wrote the Psalms.

Poets share ideas, express emotions, and create imagery.

And proudly present them to readers in beautiful poetry.

   *

With poetry, we can write about anything we feel.

True things, and even things unreal.

Poetry can take us into an enchanted world.

A land of dreams, reality, hope, and places untold.

   *

Poetry is long-lived and an important part of art and culture.

Blank verse, rhymed, free verse, narrative, and Tanka,

Pastoral, sonnet, elegies, odes, limericks, epics, and haiku.

Even Soliloquy, villanelle, lyrical, ballad, and Gogyohka, too.

  *

When I visited Shakespeare’s hometown, I grew to love Poetry.

Like a stranger standing at my door, it waited to greet me.

It brought out the best in me and made me happy.

On World Poetry Day, I display my poetry books proudly.
