The value of a Free Kindle Promotion

Was a Free Kindle Promotion for my self-help book worth it?
Although the book only received 98 downloads in the five-day period it was FREE on Amazon, it shot to No 2 in Publishing and Books.
It cost me nothing and I achieved want I wanted for the book, although the high ranking was temporary.
I did not have to pay BookBub or other advertising sites any exorbitant sums.
I guess that not many authors need help with writing and publishing and that is probably the reason for the few downloads.
That is a good sign.
In 2016 when I did a Free Kindle Promotion for My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living the book received 750 downloads.
I did not get one review for the book but it reached No 1 in Memoirs.
I did get value, therefore.
I will continue to do other Kindle Promotions as the end result is always satisfying.
The price of How to Write for Success reverts to $2.99 from Saturday 7th July.
To those who downloaded the book, I look forward to receiving some reviews.

"Dear Brenda,
On behalf of the Newfane Library Board of Trustees, I would like to thank you for the very generous donation of six of your books to our Book Fair. We are very excited for the opportunity to add them to our Library.
We are a small rural library, but we consistently strive to bring great programs to our community. Your books will be featured alongside the other authors who were featured in our Local Literature Event. Though you could not join us in person, the addition of your books allows you to be there with your words.

Six Memoirs Worth Reading

Why should you read My Life as a Banker?

Read this extract of the Editorial review of the book:
'This book is important in its portrayal of life in the author's native country, Trinidad, in the latter part of the twentieth century.
It records some historical events through which the author lived.
One such event is the takeover of the government by Muslimeens in 1990 and the scare throughout the country.
Other significant events are the changes in the banking system and the bank's attitude to its employees throughout the years.
In addition, the book shows how a young, determined girl just out of high school was able to have a highly successful career in the area of her choice and live a fulfilling life.
'

What makes Retirement is Fun so special?
Retirement is Fun is the sequel to My life as a Banker.
Women and Men who have crossed fifty should not pass up this book.
Retirement is when you stop working to live and start working at living.
When one door closes, another opens.
A reviewer said this, "Retirement IsFun" is an enjoyable account of life after retirement, written by an amazing author, Brenda Mohammed. Ms. Mohammed recounts in great detail her decision to embark on a totally new career, with its ensuing challenges and rewards, after retiring from a successful career in banking.
"Why not?" was her mental approach as she entered the world of insurance, quickly rising to the top of the profession as she continually worked tirelessly to increase her skills and abilities.
"Retirement Is Fun" is not only a testament to her success, but to her absolute enjoyment of life and everything it has to offer. Ms. Mohammedwrites about her professional successes, but also of her personal life. The reader gets to know her extended family as they are such an integral part of her life. She enjoys her family, travels often and extensively throughout the world, revels in her grandchildren and is a marvelous example of how much one can achieve in life. Such an enjoyable read!

Why should you read I am Cancer Free?

Read an Extract of a five-star review from Readers Favorite:
'The author's 'never say die' attitude, the decision not to give up in life, and finally being cancer-free will encourage everyone who has been diagnosed with the disease or have suffered from cancer.
The memoir recounts from the time of diagnosis the experiences the author went through during the treatment, her emotions, fears, finances, until the successful treatment of the disease.'

Does Your Time is Now sound like a religious book?

Yes, there are Bible quotes. But read what one reviewer said:
'Brenda inspires us through this life opening read. Focusing on the 8 verses in Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, she emphasizes how there is a time, a season, for everything; “A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing, etc…”

She breaks down each of these verses and explains them via her own life experiences. A book of reflection, and what is truly important. Simplifying what we have always complicated
.'

Memoirs of Dr.Andrew Moonir Khan: Journey of an Educator

Educators would love to read about times when Education was low priority.
One reviewer said this: 'Reading of Dr. Andrew Moonir's youth, life as an educator and church leader, I have come to know this man as a decent man, individual of good character, and a man who thought, planned out, and in a step-by-step process persevered to achieve his goals. Great men aren't forgotten and all learn from such men.

If a documentary hasn't been done on Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan's Life, his life should be filmed in a documentary. He is an inspiration

Are you a pet lover? THen you would love She Cried for Me: Autobiography of a Dog.

Read this review from a pet lover.
'Sweet, funny, touching and hard-hitting. A fitting tribute to a special dog
July 29, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a wonderfully touching and often funny memoir of a dog called Spikey, who was owned by the author of this story.
It is a quick read, but that doesn't mean there is not time for build-up or effective use of pacing.
Basically, anyone who have ever owned a pet (or been owned by pet) will understand that for some reason, we were bound to be part of their lives. As animals generally live a shorter life than us as humans, it makes their presence all the more special. I also believe that if one does not have children of their own, or cannot have children for whatever reason, that a dog or a cat, or indeed any pet, can be elevated to a very special and unique status in their lives.
The story is clever and really gives you an insight into what this special dog thought about those around them, as well as their own worries and fears about things and situations they did not understand.
If you are an animal lover, or you appreciate that life is passing every single moment, or you believe that pets are not just pets - something to be discarded when they die, you will take something from this book. I will not say you will enjoy it - it hits home on many points that if you lost a pet recently, it may not be the time to read it. But the important thing to recognise is that this is a story with a heart as big as the dog at its centre, and if that doesn't convince you to read it today, nothing will.'
