STRATFORD UPON AVON
We took a scenic ferry trip to Stratford upon the river Avon.
The market town was where the famous writer was born.
William Shakespeare, a renowned English playwright, and actor.
His father John, a glove maker, was also an important figure.

During the English Renaissance, he was a prolific poet and writer.
To date, scholars still study his works for Literature.
King Lear, The Winter’s Tale, The Tempest, and Macbeth.
Who could ever forget the tale of Romeo and Juliet?

As You Like It, a musical comedy set in the forest of Arden,
A play adapted for musical theatre, radio, and film.
With songs that never grow old and make you sing,
"Under the Greenwood tree": "Blow, blow, thou winter wind."

Shakespeare entered this world in 1564 and exited it in 1616.
His thirty-eight plays are his rich and diverse legacy,
His work has an enduring presence on stage and film.
When we think of outstanding literary icons, we remember him.
