Sam proves to be a valuable travel partner but he holds a secret love for Julia. Will he find the courage to tell her how he feels and how will she respond? Each of the short stories is compelling and includes the perfect amount of tension and suspense. Brenda has cleverly written each tale to flow effortlessly into the next. The relationship between Julia and Stephanie is wonderful; their dialogue and actions perfectly prove the support and care they have for one another. Both Julia and Stephanie have the ideal blend of femininity and strong independence which I love to see in female characters. Stories That Intrigue by Brenda Mohammed is the perfect book for anyone who loves to travel as the cities throughout are described in superb detail. You really get a sense of the culture and atmosphere in each of the places they visit. I also loved the fact that the characters were from different cultures. The author has a wonderful talent for creating characters and dialogue that completely engage the reader. Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories by Brenda Mohammed is aimed at helping the reader trace the line of descendants as far back as to the beginning of mankind, with the story of Adam and Eve. Mohammed, who is a firm believer in the fact that "the Bible is God's biography written by his chosen ones," explains, with the help of quotations from the Bible, how the contents of each of its books relate to the whole.

Mohammed ends Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories with additional material that provides true value for the reader, including the importance of having our names written down in the Book of Life; the text of her favorite two Psalms, 23 and 121 (which is my favorite, too) and a conclusion, confirming her desire (which she has successfully fulfilled) to write a story of God's chosen ones from each book in both the Old and the New Testament.

TRAVEL MEMOIRS - TRIP TO ROME

 

                           TRIP TO ROME
 

Rome is a city with a great deal of history.

Despite its beauty, it’s full of mystery.

The colosseum, a tourist site had its gory days.

Vatican City is a unique mini-state.

 

 

In 2009 Rome was part of our travels.

Toured the Vatican Museum and sat in the Sistine Chapel.

Walked through the Gallery of Tapestries.

Feasted our eyes on Michelangelo’s masterpieces.

 

The Belvedere Courtyard and other fabulous rooms

Were filled with paintings and art. I almost swooned

When we visited St. Peter’s Basilica we saw the catacombs.

Stood in awe when we saw St. Peter’s tomb.

 

Another interesting place was the Trevi Fountain.

The Spanish Steps and our trip to another fountain.

Occupied our days until it was time to move on.

Leaving behind the city of legendary palaces and museums.

OUR TRIP TO BERLIN, GERMANY

BERLIN - Another Great Memory

.

From Dusseldorf, we flew by Air Berlin to West Berlin.

Stayed at California Hotel, comfortable and inviting.

The largest city and capital of Germany,

Berlin is an exquisite city with much history.

We toured many museums and historic sites.

Heard horrific stories of their ancestors’ plight.

The shopping was great in the fabulous stores.

Bought fashionable wear, household items, and more.

On our way to Schoenefeld airport saw parts of East Berlin,

From where our flight to Gatwick, London, was leaving.

The cab driver related stories to us about his deceased family.

Happy all is well and living in peace and harmony.

DRESSED LIKE A ZEBRA - NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM - LOS ANGELES

 

                  DRESSED LIKE A ZEBRA

This Facebook memory appeared on my page today.

It brought flashes of memories of a wedding rehearsal that day,

At the fabulous National History Museum in Los Angeles.

It was the venue for the wedding reception of my niece.

*

Stunning and beautiful stuffed animals filled the hall.

Huge dinosaurs, zebras, lions, leopards, and all.

Close to the African Mammals Hall was the Rotunda.

A remarkable place to hold a wedding for animal lovers.

*

When I was dressing to go to the rehearsal that morning.

I gave absolutely no thought to what I was wearing.

I was stunned to see that I was dressed like a zebra.

My husband insisted that I take this picture.

*

The wedding the next day was a fabulous event.

All the guests seemed happy and very content.

The bride lit up the museum with her beauty and charm.

The handsome groom, a Harvard Ph.D. graduate, seemed very calm.

Travelling is Fun - Hollywood Boulevard

 

My sister and I checking out the stars on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.

TRAVELLING IS FUN

In spite of all the many recent changes in procedures for travel, because of terrorist actions, covid 19, and the need for tighter security in airports and planes, I still believe that travelling is fun.

Before 9/11, travel was a breeze.

I live in Trinidad and Tobago, and we needed visas to travel to many countries, but it was never a problem to get them as long as we satisfied the requirements. Some countries have since eased up on visa requirements.

My first trip abroad was a fabulous one. I worked at a bank and got three months' vacation after seven years. One of my co-workers also had three months' vacation and she agreed to travel with me. She had relatives in Canada and New York, and I had relatives in London and Germany.  We, therefore, travelled to New York, Canada, London, and Germany and had lots of fun. We got our visas with no problems.

Since that trip, I have visited many more exotic places in the world.
