LIFE IS A STORY - MAKE YOURS A BEST SELLER

LIFE IS A STORY - MAKE YOURS A BESTSELLER.

Have you ever wondered if your life is worth living?
Have you ever wondered what’s your reason for living?
Each Life has a purpose and we’re here to fulfill it.
Pause a moment and reflect, Life is a precious gift.
*******************************************************
However, life is not forever, but does it matter?
It is a time for preparation for a life in the hereafter.
Never for one moment think your life is meaningless.
Make every day count and start each morning afresh.
********************************************************
We are here to live this earthly life only once.
Let us, therefore, be wise and make it count.
Time is a fleeting thing and running away.
Make valuable use of each and every day.
**************************************************
Let us contemplate on the brevity of life.
We must do our best to keep away from strife.
Living as good sisters and brothers rather.
Life is a story, make yours a best seller.

Meet Author Brenda Mohammed

Interview with multi-genre author Brenda Mohammed
Posted: October 10, 2018 | Author: kayelynnebooth | Filed under: Author Profile, Books, Fiction, Interview, Memoir, Nonfiction, Science Fiction, Travel, Writing | Tags: Author Interview, Brenda Mohammed, Memoir, Science Fiction, Travel Memoir

Brenda Mohammed Portfolio

I have the pleasure of interviewing independent author Brenda Mohammed today. She is not only a multi-genre author, but a multi-award winning author, who seems to dabble in a bit of everything. She comes from a background in finance, but became an author when she wrote a memoir about her battle with ovarian cancer. Since then, she’s written several other memoirs, as well as a science fiction series, a horror novel and a crime novel, as well as a wonderful self-help book for aspiring authors. She has done so much, and made so many travels, and I’m thrilled to have her share all that with us here, on Writing to be Read. Please give a warm welcome to Brenda Mohammed.

Kaye: When did you know you wanted to be an author?

Brenda: I never planned to be an author. I was a successful Bank Manager for many years. After I retired from the Bank at an early age, I became an Insurance Professional. I loved working in Finance and helping many people achieve their financial goals. In 2005 I was stricken with ovarian cancer. My doctor in Trinidad told me that she could not help me, and no other doctor in Trinidad at that time was qualified to do so. I sought treatment in Miami and gained a new lease on life. In 2013 I wrote a book about my cancer ordeal and recovery, I am Cancer Free. That was my first book and I have never stopped writing after that. To date I have written nineteen books.

Kaye: You’ve written 6 memoirs, 2 children’s books, a science fiction series, a crime novel, and a nonfiction book on writing. What’s the secret to tackling so many different genres?

Brenda: There really is no secret to writing in multiple genres. I have always loved a challenge and constantly seek out new opportunities. I write whatever I feel passionate about.

Kaye: You have written books in multiple genres: science fiction, memoir, self-help, etc… What are some of the differences you run into in writing different genres?

Brenda: When I am writing science fiction I maintain my focus on science fiction, and similarly with the other genres. The secret is to stay focused on the plot or the subject to achieve the end result. However, the problem I faced was in promoting my books.
I discovered a way around that and made Facebook Author pages for each genre. I have seven Facebook author pages. I also joined several Facebook groups that specialise in genres in which I write, to promote my books.

Kaye: Which genre is your favorite to write in? Why?

Brenda: I really enjoyed writing my science fiction series because it took me to another world for a while. When I wrote it I found myself becoming the hero or heroine and doing impossible things.

Kaye: You won a Readers’ Favorite Award in the 2018 International Book Awards for both your YA science fiction series Zeeka Chronicles, and your memoir I Am Cancer Free. What, if anything do these two books have in common besides both being Reader’s Favorite Book Award recipients? What makes them award winning books?

Brenda: Strange. I think I just answered that question above. The books have nothing in common yet there is a common thread. One is a futuristic thriller and the other is a survival story. As I said above when writing science fiction. i.e. Zeeka Chronicles, I found myself becoming the hero or heroine. In I am Cancer Free I am the heroine.
Seriously though, I quote from Readers Favorite: “Contest entries are judged all year long and are given a rating score based on key literary elements. The judges simply read the book and score it based on its merits.”

Kaye: Those are not the only award winning books you’ve written. Two other memoirs, My Life as a Banker received a second place award in memoirs in the Metamorph Publishing’s Summer Indie Book Awards in 2016 and Your Time is Now received IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Read Award Badge. What can you tell us about those two books?

Brenda: My Life as a Banker is a memoir about my life in Banking. Banking was my first love. I always wanted to work in a bank. I love serving and helping people and seeing them prosper. Banking gave me the opportunity to do so and especially when I climbed the ranks to Commercial Area Credit Manager and was able to help business people with startups and expansion. Banking allowed me to play my part in building the economy of my native country, Trinidad.
Your Time is Now is intended to help people understand their own lives and to realize that we are all here on earth for a purpose.
The reviews for both these books speak a lot for them.

Kaye: What is it like to receive notification that your book is the recipient of a prestigious award?

Brenda: I have won many awards before in both Banking and Insurance.in my home country.
However, as this was an International Award it was a most joyous feeling to tell my friends and family that I won two prestigious awards with Readers Favorite International and will be attending the Awards Ceremony in Miami. In November.

Kaye: What’s something most readers would never guess about you?

Brenda: I dabble in art, poetry, and graphics in my spare time. Some of my art work hang on the walls of my home.

Kaye: What time of day do you prefer to do your writing? Why?

Brenda: I prefer to write in the still of the night. When everyone is asleep I find peace to think and write.

Kaye: What is the biggest challenge of being a writer?

Brenda: Only a few days ago I penned this poem about writing:

Writing takes me into a fantasy world.

Sometimes I find myself in a black hole.

I edit and fight to come out of it

But not before I get into a fit.

My books have gathered great reviews

Won awards and made the news.

Is it worth it, I sometimes ask?

Writing a book is a great task.

A writer’s life is a rather lonely one.

All day behind a computer is no fun.

An author must make the time

Read others’ books and go out and lime.

Do not sit at your computer all day.

Join the family in travel and play

Love of a family is life’s greatest gift

When you need to relax they give you a lift.

Kaye: Is there anything unique or unusual about your writing process?

Brenda: Before writing a story I write an outline of the entire plot in a couple of pages. I then use that to build my story. It sounds simple, but it is not.

Kaye: Your book on writing is titled How to Write for Success: Best Writing Advice I Received. Can you briefly share what the best writing advice you ever received really was? What is the main message of this book?

Brenda: The Best Writing Advice I Received was “Keep the Reader in mind when writing. In other words write for the reader and your books will sell.”
To answer the second part of the question I will quote one of the five-star reviews. The one from Readers Favorite is too long so I will share this one from an Amazon Reviewer:
“Having read a couple of Mohammed’s books, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed in this self-help book, and I was not. The book covers not only the gamut on the art of writing, but the formulation of an idea for a book, to proofreading, and eventual marketing of his/her book. This is an excellent book for anyone who finds him/herself contemplating becoming a writer. With Mohammed’s book in hand, there should be little, if any, room for error. I highly recommend.”

Kaye: You like to travel. Do the places you travel end up in your books?

Brenda: Yes they do and they did. I wrote Travel Memoirs with Pictures: Exploring the world. It is an illustrated picture book filled with reflections of my travels around the world.

In this pictorial travel book of my priceless memories, I describe places visited and the wonderful times I and my family had in our tourist trips. The book is great to read while on a vacation or for some travel inspiration.

I want to thank Brenda Mohammed for joining us here today and sharing a little about her lovely books. You can learn more about Brenda and her books on Amazon at: http://Author.to/BCM786. I love how she turned her own life experiences into books to be shared by all.

Days of Poetry

Before I started writing books I began to write poetry.
In 2007 after my bout with cancer I wrote this poem and won an award for it.
I have included the poem in my book, I am Cancer Free - A Memoir available on AMAZON

A TRUE TALE

I awoke dazed, confused, where could I be?
Suddenly recalling I just had surgery.
Hooked up to machines, nurses surrounding my
Bed,
I closed my eyes and covered my head.

The doctor entered, her head bowed,
She uttered that I needed to go abroad,
The surgery was incomplete, and she was sorry.
A malignant tumor was discovered in my left
ovary.

My husband and I gasped in disbelief.
Fate had bestowed on me such grief.
We thought it was a simple hysterectomy.
I now needed chemotherapy and more surgery.

We immediately flew to Miami,
Where our daughter arranged for me to see
An oncologist at a cancer center;
No other doctor could have been better.

His diagnosis and treatment were very exact,
He prescribed three chemos to stop the cancer
attack.
He operated and removed successfully,
Every piece of the tumor that almost killed me.

I am now at home with my beloved family.
I now know how much they love me.
They were at my side as far as I recall,
And God was most faithful throughout it all.

Interesting read!
March 21, 2018
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although the title of the book I was prepared to read about was the author’s life as a banker, this book is so much more.
It a memoir written in journal accounting as the author takes the reader on the journey almost from birth to adulthood.
Throughout there are various scenarios of life on the island of Trinidad, where the story is set.
I’ve visited several of the islands in the Caribbean; however, Trinidad is not one of them.
Maybe one day.
But after reading several of the author’s books some set in Trinidad, I feel as if I’ve visited the place in person, so vivid the descriptions.
The other thing that needs pointing about this accounting is the way the author took the reader to work with her, from her first job to her movement up the corporate ladder, and her ultimate position as a bank manager.
There are lots of brief descriptions about her family life, being courted by her husband and the wonderful ceremony of her wedding.
This book has a bit of everything and will keep the reader’s interest until the end.
Very interesting read!

Her strong faith in God saw her through all the trials she had to undergo.

Readers Favorite Five-Star Review of ‘I am Cancer Free’ by Brenda Mohammed.

I Am Cancer Free by Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed is the poignant memoir of the author’s personal battle with cancer. Her faith in God and proving that ovarian cancer need not be a death sentence are what make this memoir a heartrending read. The author’s 'never say die' attitude, the decision not to give up in life, and finally being cancer-free will encourage everyone who has been diagnosed with the disease or who has suffered from cancer. The memoir recounts from the time of diagnosis the experiences the author went through during the treatment, her emotions, fears, finances, until the successful treatment of the disease.
It is a courageous story of survival, faith, and strength.
The author chronicles every step of her journey methodically, without leaving anything out, making the narration very personal, honest, and palpable to readers. The presence of God in everyone’s life, a positive attitude, and the power of prayers run through the memoir. The author reiterates the fact that faith in God removes all obstacles in life. The conversational style of writing connects well with readers, making it easy for them to understand her journey. The author has also shared the poems she wrote during that phase in her life, where she again speaks about her story, faith in the Lord, and a Higher Power. For all those who are suffering from cancer and are battling the disease, this book is a must-read as it will give them hope, strength, and courage to fight the disease."

TIME - Let's Appreciate it More
ByCrystal Mary Lindsey (Author)on May 4, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Time, what is time?... Well as the author says, it's all about life and how we use the time for different events throughout our life.
I have always loved these Bible verses and yet the author of this book brings them to reality in a way at times, that I haven't conceived.
She begins her book with a song by the Byrds...that there is "A time under heaven for everything." Strangely, I have been reminded now for the second time this week about that OLD song.
This book resonated into my spirit and soul. God created us in HIS image, and God is a spirit. God is comprised of three, Father - Son - and Holy Spirit. Would HE do no less for us??
We are also three- Spirit, Soul (our unique personality) and a body...
How perfectly God works. He has not allowed one single lesson he wants us to realise - go unanswered.
This book describes well, the lessons of life reminding us of TIME and the essence thereof.
We will experience Love, we will experience hate ... and many other facts of TIME.
So it is important for us to realize these truths. Thank you, Brenda Mohammed, for this well-written description.

TOP REVIEW

This inspiring book tells of the many adventures experienced by the author after retiring from a banking career.
She talks about her new career in the insurance business and narrates, with meticulous detail, the many wonderful experiences
in her new life including the birth of her grandchildren, her meeting of new friends, her travels abroad, and her continued enjoyment of life. For her, life certainly did not stop at retirement.

Throughout the book, the author demonstrates a positive outlook on everything that happens in her life. Not only did she endure wonderful experiences, but she also had a bout with cancer and a terrible accident in Miami. She interprets these negative events in a positive light by using them to show how her faith helped her to overcome these obstacles.

The author's appreciation of life is evident as she treasures every moment with her family and the time she shares with them.

As in her previous books, the author once again exhibits a remarkable memory for details as she provides a meticulous description of all her activities since retirement. The style is simple and readable.

The book shows that life certainly does not end when one retires.
Life continues and one must live with a positive and determined spirit to continue experiencing the joy of life
and to discover one's hidden talents.

I enjoyed the positive spirit shown by the author in this book. She demonstrates that it is one's attitude that counts towards one's enjoyment of life.

This book is recommended for all retirees or persons contemplating retirement.

Amazing Review of Your Time is Now : A Time to be born and a Time to die.

Author J.B.Richards famous author of Miriamme the Magdala recently reviewed YOUR TIME IS NOW : A TIME TO BE BORN AND A TIME TO DIE.

Here is what she had to say:

A Time to Read: A Beautiful and Soulful Tale about Trust and Belief in the Lord!
By Author JB Richards on November 16, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Five- Stars
Having herself experienced a lifetime of tragedy and joy, Author Brenda Mohammed assumes the mantle of theologian/philosopher in her quest to understand and explain the elegance and meaning found in the biblical verses extolled in Ecclesiastes 3.
In "Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die", Mohammed fully examines each memorable and precious verse and applies them to her own life experiences.
In doing so, she takes the reader on a journey through a lifetime filled with trials and tribulations, despair and hope, loss and success.
The author eloquently defines Ecclesiastes 3, pointing out that, by freely accepting God's will, she has been amply blessed with a faithful family, loyal mentors, good friends, and a full life.
She successfully leaves her readers with a message of hope and inspiration by sharing her belief that, through introspection and prayer, one may find meaning within the events of their own everyday experiences.
She appears to be a firm proponent to the old adage, "When days seem at their darkest, surrendering and trusting in the divine will ensure peace and prosperity".
All in all, I found this book to be quite engaging.
The author's reflections on her childhood were beyond charming in some spots, yet brought me to tears in others.
Her candidness about her relationships with parents, siblings, husband, and her own children reminded me so much of my own family's saga, and I must admit that I was thrilled to find a read that tugged at my heartstrings the way this book did!
For any individual seeking solace and meaning in today's hectic world, "Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die" is a beautiful and soulful read.
Thank you, Brenda Mohammed, for sharing your journey with me!

This is only one of the wonderful five-star reviews that the book has received to date, but this one demonstrates that the reader truly understands the concept of the book and why it was written.

The book is available at Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Create Space, Nook, Kobo, Apple, Scibd, Page Foundry, 24 Symbols, and Tolino.

5.0 out of 5 starsThoughtful and detailed account of defeating the most terrible of diseases
ByKato's Revenge on May 21, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
I am Cancer Free is an extremely positive title for something that is so terrifying to pretty much all of us, were we to be diagnosed with it.

No illness is pleasant, but surely cancer is one of the very worst, and although survival rates are increasing all the time depending on the type of cancer concerned, it is good to know that the author, who thankfully defeated this terrible disease, overcome it in order to pen this extremely good read.

From a carefree life, visiting friends and relatives, through to the initial concerns and then onto the diagnosis, the author takes us on a journey in this book. But potential readers shouldn't be put off by the subject matter. The author has bravely chose to share her experience with the reader. It is never negative, although some of it is very harrowing to read.

The description of the subsequent and very necessary operation which resulted in the author regaining her full health is a case of just enough information. There's no need for gory details and we don't get them. In essence, the author has the balance right between info-dumping and info-giving.

Again, it's a book that educates and informs.

Thank goodness for medical insurance. In the UK, we are fortunate that the NHS provides many life saving treatments. I do hope the government (s) wake up and spend money on research to defeat this terrible disease in all its forms.

Well done to the author on the beating of this disease and in the creation of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars
Remarkably detailed, and poignant description of the author's experiences as she was diagnosed and treated for ovarian cancer.
By Arabella Persaud on June 19, 2014
Format: Paperback|Verified Purchase
This true story should be read by every person who has been diagnosed with or who has ever suffered from cancer. Their loved ones will also benefit from reading this autobiographical account. The author has an impressive memory for details and gives an excellent account of everything that she went through during that trying period from her diagnosis to the successful treatment of the disease. She narrates, in depth, all her experiences during her treatment, including her personal feelings, her understandable fears, and even financial matters. Displaying an exceptionally lucid memory, she remembers every single person who supported her during that time period and every single little detail including the hurricane that struck Miami after her second chemotherapy session and the inconveniences incurred with regard to electricity in the house and gas for the car. She also remembers in detail every restaurant in which she ate in Miami and everyone who visited her. Her memory of every important date is extremely remarkable.

During all the upheavals, the author never lost her faith in God. Her undaunting faith upheld her and comforted her during this dark period of her life. Her story clearly demonstrates that faith in God surmounts all obstacles.

The book makes easy ready and the style is almost conversational. One gets the feeling that the author is speaking directly to the reader. It is an intensely personal narration and I recommend this book highly.

This is a detailed and personal account of how a very strong believer and family-oriented woman beat ovarian cancer. Although that type of cancer historically develops rapidly and has devastating effects, this true story shows how faith, family and love are a powerful force to reckon with. A must read for anyone with or without an illness!

Top Customer Reviews for Travel Memoirs with Pictures

5.0 out of 5 starsI'll be looking at booking plane tickets after reading this! So will you....
By Kato's Revenge on May 15, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Travel Memoirs With Pictures is the second travelogue I have read this year, and just like the other book, readers will find themselves treated to a pictorial story as they go along. Some books like these tend to be 'photo-heavy' and rather redundant with the actual test.

In other words, pretty pictures alone do not make for a great book. So it's with pleasure that this book gives us insight into many countries.

I paid particular regard to places I had been to before in this book, for example, places like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Italy, France (because I have been to these places before) and others.

Of the places I haven't yet been to, I would dearly love to go to Cartegena (in fact, thank you Author for putting this idea in my head!), but readers will have their own choices as they read the book.

Of course, the author has been to England and to my country's capital, London. As a national I must say that whilst London is definitely worth visiting, there are many gems in England that people don't know about. Aside from writing I do love to get out there and see what England....10 minutes drive in any direction from where I live, has to offer.

Travel Memoirs With Pictures offers readers a personal glance into one tourists view of many different places, and the different ways one can travel to them.

Recommended for anyone who has the travel bug!

Brenda successfully awakens our spirit and motivates us to focus on what’s important around us in this powerful read.
By Jen L. on August 29, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Brenda inspires us through this life opening read. Focusing on the 8 verses in Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, she emphasizes how there is a time, a season, for everything; “A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing, etc…”

She breaks down each of these verses, and explains them via her own life experiences. A book of reflection, and what is truly important. Simplifying what we have always complicated.

How many of us are prepared for the eventuality of leaving this planet, leaving our body, leaving our loved ones? “My father was one of those who knew that he was going to die and was well prepared.” If you thought along these lines EVERYDAY, how would this change your behavior? Living each day like it was your last… Brenda successfully awakens our spirit and motivates us to focus on what’s important around us in this powerful read.

Thoughtful reflections on the meaning of verses 1 to 8 of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 of the Bible
By Arabella Persaud on June 22, 2014
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
In her characteristic easy to read style, the author provides an insightful interpretation of the 8 verses of Ecclesiastes that were used in the famous song by the Byrds. Drawing on personal experiences, an astounding knowledge of the Bible, general observances and reflections on life, the author examines these verses and presents her interpretation in as clear and understandable a manner as possible. She narrates several stories from her own life to illustrate each verse and shows how her faith helps her to overcome many obstacles and to live a successful and happy life.
This is an inspiring book which clearly shows that when one applies the principles of the Bible to real life, one can get marvelous results. It is an uplifting book and should be read by anyone who wants to restore his or her faith in God or in life in general.

A true story told with pure intentions and true feelings
By Roma Sinanan on May 17, 2014

A true story told with pure intentions and deep feelings. It's simplicity and well scripted chapters grow into each other methodically and freely. The reader is impelled to move on with ease and comfort. There is a pervasive humility in each incident which truly reflects the author's character and personality. Her pride in her heritage and family ties touches deep into the soul and absorbs the attention of the reader. Personal circumstances told, reflect her openness to inform and tutor at the same time, what one can derive from challenges unexpected, if rooted in the trust one places in God.
The author's implicit belief in divine intervention summarizes her message. I have enjoyed, I have been touched and have had my personal convictions reiterated in this most interesting and soul searching book. I recommend it to all especially to you who in times when the clouds grow dark- the silver linings emerge to remind us of a light emerging on the other side. This is the author's story.

Live, breathe, share, laugh and love. Your time really is now. The other stuff doesn't matter.
By Kato's Revenge on September 25, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Whilst Your Time is Now is a memoir with biblical undertones, I would like to split this review in two parts.

The story is about seizing the day, much like how Robin William's teacher wanted his class to do in Dead Poet's Society. I think we are all guilty to some extent about not seizing the day, seizing the moment. Then we reflect on such things and wonder why we weren't just a little bit braver. What would have been the worst thing that could have happened as a result of our actions? Whilst one book cannot hope to provide a satisfactory answer to such a question, it satisfies many of the author's search for meaning in her life. I am splitting my review not out of disrespect to the author's beliefs, it's just that my views are a little different and so I should be clear about that from the outset.

This is not the first memoir I have read by the author but it's probably the most interesting one - even though the others were extremely readable books in their own right. However, whilst there is some overlap, it still feels like a new read.

I especially enjoyed the part where Canadian missionaries approached the author's parents, seeking to adopt her. Canada is cold, more cold than the author's native Trinidad and Tobago, and it's clear she was happy not to be taken away. Her family is a large one and it is uplifting to read how much she loves her family.

Later elements talk about reaping what we sow. This is very true. As I have aged I think I have mellowed a lot - it's more likely I will say something nice and supportive rather than be snidey or cruel. There may be times to do that, but overall the message is 'look, life is short - be nice to each other'.

I don't know what would have been made of me if I had been there to experience the sermon on the mount. We all have complexities to ourselves, but without them, we would not be who we are. One hopes that if I do face that final judgement, I won't be considered a bad person, even though I am not fully into the beliefs referenced in this book.

It's refreshing that one of the author's Directors commented on her being 'a Real Christian'. In England we are supposed to live in a Christian country, yet the display of crosses around our necks is considered controversial and possibly offensive. This is nonsensical to me. So long as no-one wishes to hurt me, I have no issue with them.

Perhaps my favourite line in the entire book is 'A highly evolved person is free from worry and depression and radiates calmness'. So true - and if only we could all live like that, impressing positive thoughts on those we interact with and yes, profess to love (even via blood or relationship status) the world would be a better place.

So forget the nonsense of a busy, noisy world. Most of the stuff we worry about is a waste of our time. We are better than that and should act accordingly.

Read this book and feel uplifted.

New Five Star Review for I am Cancer Free - A Memoir

Five Stars Everyone should read this!

I picked up this book, as my father has been diagnosed with stage four cancer. I wanted to read this from the perspective of someone who has been there so that I could better support him.
What I will say is that everyone should read this book. We are all touched by this horrible and untimely disease, and reading the author's story helped me understand a little more how my father might be feeling. Whilst I know he will never be cancer free - I wanted to understand more.

It's emotional, heartfelt, honest and transparent. The author has told the story with true authenticity.

Highly highly recommended!

Book Reviews of My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living

Review by Hannah Howe [Five Stars]

My Life as a Banker
By Fifty Sheds of Books on July 7, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition

My Life As A Banker is a fascinating, intimate story. The author has an engaging writing style that draws you into the story and you feel as though she is talking directly to you, the reader. There is a nice balance between the professional and the personal and while I found the professional aspects rewarding, the highlight for me was reading about the author's interesting life.

The social history aspects of the book also fascinated me, particularly the descriptions of life in Trinidad and I would image that this memoir will serve as an important document for social historians in years to come.

This might sound strange to say about a book with banker in the title, but the author demonstrates quite vividly that there are far more important things than money in life.

It was interesting to see how banking was in another country, than the United States. Being a banker myself, I found it interesting, and could relate to several tasks that are mentioned. I like the way her family was woven through the story.

Five Star Review of Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter - A Memoir

A well-written chronicle of the author's experiences and adventures since her retirement from a long career in the bank August 26, 2014 Format: Paperback This inspiring book tells of the many adventures experienced by the author after retiring from a banking career. She talks about her new career in the insurance business and narrates, with meticulous detail, the many wonderful experiences in her new life including the birth of her grandchildren, her meeting of new friends, her travels abroad, and her continued enjoyment of life. Life continues and one must live with a positive and determined spirit to continue experiencing the joy of life and to discover one's hidden talents. I enjoyed the positive spirit shown by the author in this book. She demonstrates that it is one's attitude that counts towards one's enjoyment of life. This book is recommended for all retirees or persons contemplating retirement. Get your Copy from AMAZON
